Salewa Scratch

The Salewa Scratch is a compact avalanche shovel built for backcountry and ski-touring rescue. Its tempered aluminum construction keeps weight low while the blade’s sharp edge cuts through heavily compressed snow, and the parallel cut edges reduce snow compaction to save your energy when digging.

Designed for efficient snow work, the extendable shaft enables ergonomic shovelling, while the horizontal tread zone on the blade allows a forceful foot insertion. Cut-outs in the blade also let the shovel serve as a snow anchor, adding versatility when every second counts in avalanche terrain.
